Sunday Moments of Peace January 22,2017

Have A life of peace and Joy, despite all the troubles surrounding us.

Is this possible?  Can we have peace in our troubled world?  I can hear some of you saying now; yeah but you don’t understand, I have this …..( problem) in my life.
This would make any normal human being be troubled and anxious.

What if I told you that it doesn’t have to be that way?  What if I told you, you can experience peace and joy and not suffer in constant anxiety and turmoil?

The actual words of the Bible are anointed by the Holy Spirit
(God, The creator of this world) Himself –
and they have the full ability to completely change and transform you,  if you are willing to work with the divine truths that are contained in the actual words.

 peace, joy

One of my favorite scripture promises says….

Philippians 4:6 – 7
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

How do we not have anxiety?

We eliminate anxiety by having faith in his promises.

We all have done it and do it but when we worry or have anxiety we do not trust that He will deliver us from this problem or take care of a particular situation.

We are lacking faith and trust in God.

The same God that made this world.  The same God that made all the stars and galaxies.  This amazing wonderful God that has so much love for us.

We all do this, some more than others.

So how do we get more faith?

Meditating on God’s word will increase your faith.

Jesus says in the Bible that you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free. However, you first have to know what the real truth is before the truth can start to work to set you free.

When I say meditate I don’t think it means just to read quickly over a chapter and write a check mark off your daily tasks saying completed bible reading.

To meditate is to think deeply or focus one’s mind for a period of time.  It is to think carefully about something.

So if you are troubled about finances; find the scripture that talk about how he provides for us.

If it is about a decision you have to make, a direction you want to take; meditate on the scriptures about how he will provide a path and direction for you to take.

for example Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all you ways submit to him, and he will make you paths straight.

If you want to eliminate fear; meditate on the promises on how he gives us courage.

For example,   1 Peter 5;l7  says, “Cast all your anxieties on him, for he cares about you.”

If you want to eliminate lack; meditate on the promises about abundance.

If you want to eliminate being overwhelmed and tired; meditate on scriptures like this one…
Matthew 11: 28 – 30
28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Dwell and obsess on these scriptures.

Meditate on that, focus and memorize these particular scriptures.  Embed them in your brain.

I love this one…
Romans 12:2
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

The Word of God is powerful, because it is guaranteed by God to be effective.   It can transform our mind.

It’s is easy to forget what we read and meditate on in the morning or particular time of day that we did this.   The day gets crazy and busy and most of us don’t even think about what we meditated on earlier.  One thing that helps me to say focused on a particular thing is to write it down on index cards.  I flash through the index cards and say them out loud when I am alone.  I  read and think of them when other people are around.  I do this multiple times a day.  It takes a few seconds to flash through them and state them.

I also have them posted on my bathroom mirror, dash of car, refrigerator and places I will be reminded of it throughout the day.

So I urge you to pick of that beautiful wonderful book (Bible) and watch your life transform and find the peace and happiness that we all want despite the troubled world going on around us.

Talk to you soon,
Blessings to you all,
