Simple sauce but so yummy!  Great on top of noodles or better yet spaghetti squash or zucchini noodles.  

INGREDIENTS 
If sauce if too thick sometimes I will add some chicken stock.
1 – 2 tablespoons olive oil. 
1 14 oz can tomato sauce
1 15 oz can whole tomatoes
1/2 cup red wine (optional)  I think this makes a huge difference.  
1 small yellow onion finely chopped
2 stocks celery chopped with leaves too. 
1/4 cup fresh parsley
1/4 cup fresh basil
1 large carrot grated
4 cloves garlic minced
1/2 mushrooms sliced
1 tablespoon cinnamon 
1 tablespoon oregano
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 teaspoon salt
pepper to taste
INSTRUCTIONS
Add 1 tablespoon olive oil to skillet and saute onion, carrot, garlic, parsley add mushrooms last.  Just till a little wilted.  About 5 – 7 minutes.  Add to sauce pan or crock pot.  Add spices, wine, tomato sauce, can whole tomatoes and fresh basil and cook for a couple hours on stove top very lowest temperature or crock pot – on low all day or high for 5 to 6 hours.
