Prayer changes Things!
Hello friends, I am writing this post on a Sunday morning. It has been raining so long and today finally it is a beautiful clear sunny day. I am loving this sunshine.
I wanted to talk about prayer. There is power in prayer. It isn’t just something you do when you want something from God or just to do because you think it is an obligation. It is our communication with the creator of this world.
Just think about that…
The God who created this world is personal. He is not just a supernaturally power or force or universal mind out there. He is an all-powerful, all loving, all knowing God that wants a personal friendship with every human being.
We can all have a personal relationship with the Almighty Creator of the world. This BLOWS MY MIND. So many people believe there is a supernaturally presence out there but it’s more than that.
We have a God that is personal, someone that cares about every part of our lives. He wants to be a part of every decision we make. When we buy a car, choose a career or even choose a spouse. He has our best interest in mind and he knows what is best for us.
He isn’t a genie in the sky where you “rub the lamb” pray and expect an answer to our prayers.
Sometimes I have felt all alone and didn’t understand why He won’t answer me or why I didn’t feel his presence with me. Sometimes I feel like He is not there.
I trust in His promise that He is always there. He has never brought me through anything that I couldn’t handle.
[blockquote style=”box”]…I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
There have been many times that I have felt his presence so strong in my life just filling me up with his joy and peace when I needed it most.
Praying to Him is how to create a more intimate friendship.
Think about this; if you never spent time talking with your kids or spouse, how would your relationship with them be ?
If you neglected them and spend more time on other things those relationships would suffer and weaken.
The same goes for our spiritual lives. The awesome thing with Our God, Jesus Christ, The creator of this world, wants to talk with you. He loves you and is knocking at the door waiting for you to open the door and let him in.
He won’t just come in. He made us all with a free will to choose or not choose him. You have to open that door and invite Him in.
This last year has been a very dark year. My brother passed and my dad passed. I was so close to both of them. My dad was such a huge supporter and encourager for me. He always told me how proud he was of me and was always encouraging me on. He was one of my best friends. My brother, only 4 years older, was very close to me. He was the one brother out of 4 that lived close by. He too was a big encouragement and supporter to me.
I have felt God’s comfort through this all. His peace and comfort I can’t image being without. I can see how He has comforted my mom as well. They were married for 61 years and did everything together. My mom has so much faith and trust in God, she is amazing. I can see how He has brought her peace in this difficult time.
I hope all who are reading this now, will start or continue to pray and draw closer to God each day and find that peace that passes all understanding.
[blockquote style=”box”]Philippians 4: 6 – 7 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God and the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.[/blockquote]
Blessings to all of you! Talk to you soon,
